The configuration section 'system.serviceModel' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration

I'm trying to deploy a service on a 2k8, IIS7, fresh-of-the-shelve-server but is stopped by the error stated in the topic. Just for test, I deployed the HelloResource-sample but ran into the same problem.

.Net 4 is up and running on the server, I've double checked that the application pool is mapped to .Net 4, aspnet_regiis, and servicemodelreg has been executed and we've even patched the IIS with the .Net 4-hotfix; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958854

I'm at my wits end here.. Have anyone else had some similar problems?

Best regards,

Nevermind this.. It turns out our syad hadn't installed the Application Server-role, only the IIS Web Server-role. After installation of the application server role and re-register of .net using aspnet_regiis everything worked fine.
