Microsoft.HTTP vs System.NET.HTTP

Hi,

I'm getting started on a .NET project to consume REST services and I came across the REST Starter Kit Preview 2 and the Web API Preview 3.  There seems to be some ambiguity with these projects and libraries and I was hoping the community could help clarify.

1) Is WCF Web API Preview 3 the successor of the REST Starter Kit Preview 2?

2) I noticed that the REST Starter Kit Preview 2 comes with the following DLLs

Microsoft.HTTP
Microsoft.HTTP.Extensions
Microsoft.ServiceModel.Web

.. and the WCF Web API Preview 3 comes with the following DLLs

 Microsoft.NET.HTTP

If WCF Web API is the successor, where do we find the HTTP Extensions.  Is one to take them from the REST Starter Kit?  Also, what happened to the ServiceModel.Web library in the WCF Web API

Thanks

Hi syndr

Read our FAQ here. This does replace the REST Starter Kit.

We do have extensions in the box of the current bits. Look at the Microsoft.Net.Http.Extensions project under prototypes for the extensions. There are unit tests that show the use cases, but more samples are planned.

Some pieces from ServiceModel.Web are referenced from the new bits.

Thanks
